CLICK THE LOGO ABOVE TO ACCESS THE GROUP

International teachers from diverse backgrounds need a central hub. A place from which they can share information, experiences, advice, and resources to support safe and confident experiences.

A place to highlight safe spaces and workplaces to celebrate and aim for. A place to ensure that we are prepared for or protected from more challenging spaces.

Supporting each other to move in an informed way and support our continued success for the diverse learners in the world who need us…

So I created it for us…

Please join, I look forward to sharing resources in the future and seeing the community grow.

GROUP DESCRIPTION

To create a professional rallying point for diverse educators, typically classified as BAME, POC, or ‘minorities’ (globally majority!) to learn about how to confidently and safely take on international teaching roles.

This includes sharing articles and free resources that you can use to prep for interviews and support your research, sharing experiences within the community of both schools and locations, and advertising job opportunities at the schools we are in.

The owner of the group also creates resources and offers mentoring customised to the needs of the members of the group.

We also invite members to share relevant job adverts that we are interested in to get advice, alongside examples of job adverts to avoid, to help you learn how to get your foot in the door. We do not get paid to do this.

What happens when I join?

When you join this group you will get a welcome message from the owner. Then you are free to connect with other people in the group and check out the posts and resources in the form of links, webinars and custom made PDFs.

This is currently NOT A SPACE FOR RECRUITERS TO BLANKET ADVERTISE but a space for critical questioning and engagement. Who can I message to find out more about the group? Message the owner or the manager of the group.

Rules

1. Only share information that is relevant to BAME teachers seeking to engage with international work in a safe and confident way.

2. No self-promotion – sharing guides and relevant materials are at the moderator’s discretion but simple advertising of blogs and services is not accepted.

3. Each One Teach One – Contribute to the group if you can, do not just ask for help all the time. All voices and experiences have value and may support others, so contribute to discussions and give feedback on what you tried and what worked out to help others learn.

4. Respect all group members and maintain a professional, positive attitude in exchanges.

5. This is a safe space for BAME people; allies and people willing to learn from these communities are welcome.
